Wildsound's Contribution to 100 Years of Philippine Cinema
Year 2019 marks the 100th year since the birth of the Philippine cinema industry, which started way back 1919 with the first Filipino film, Dalagang Bukid. Last September 12, 2019, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) spearheaded the celebration for this historical event through Sine Sandaan: 100 Years of Philippine Cinema at the New Frontier Theater, Araneta Center, Cubao, honoring the pillars of Philippine cinema.
With over 2,000 attendees consisting of people in front of the camera and those behind the scenes, such as actors, directors, producers, makeup artists, cameramen, and so forth, Sine Sandaan was truly a night of reflection and celebration. In homage to their efforts and contributions to a century of Philippine movies, 300 attendees were honored as Luminaries and Icons of Philippine Cinema, the biggest tributes that were awarded that night.
With much pride, Wildsound congratulates its very own Alex Tomboc and Lamberto Casas, Senior Audio Engineers, who were awarded as Luminaries, and Founder and CEO Albert Michael M. Idioma, who was named one of the Icons of Philippine Cinema for his enduring contributions to the film-making industry.
The recognitions and titles earned by our Senior Audio Engineers in this event is not simply “another title” or “another award.” But it is a testimony and proof of the top-quality service that Wildsound contributes to the long-running years of Philippine cinema.
