Narra Post-Production’s Noel Cua

Can you tell us your current title and summarize your day-to-day responsibilities?

I’m both an I.T. Assistant and Online Editor here at Narra. In my role as an IT assistant, I handle various computer and IT-related issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting, equipment setup, and network maintenance. This involves configuring routers and switches, establishing network connections, and ensuring overall security. As an online editor, I gather essential assets such as visual effects (VFX), audio mixes, and graded materials. I then meticulously assemble these components to create a visually captivating final version of the film.

Could you summarize your background before joining the company? Where did you go to school? If applicable, what early jobs did you have?

Before joining Narra, I was a building commissioning engineer related to construction and engineering projects. My primary duty was to offer essential support by thoroughly inspecting the equipment, facilities, and various components of engineering projects to verify their correct design and installation. This involved tasks such as generating detailed reports, addressing technical challenges, performing testing procedures, and supervising the entire project life cycle. Quite a shift from engineering to film.

When did you start at Narra, and in what role? If you have grown or evolved in your position here, could you describe how?

My journey began during the pandemic, as I took on the role of an IT assistant in Narra. Over time, I not only continued in my role as an IT assistant but also expanded my responsibilities to become an Online Editor. This evolution in my career was made possible with the generous support and guidance of both my IT Head and the company's president. They played instrumental roles in my development, providing me with the necessary mentorship and opportunities to grow as a more technically proficient individual. Their belief in my potential and their investment in my professional advancement allowed me to gain a broader skill set and knowledge base. This experience has not only enhanced my technical capabilities but has also deepened my commitment to the organization. It's a testament to the importance of effective mentorship and leadership within a company, and I am truly grateful for the guidance and trust they have placed in me. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the company's success as I further develop in my dual roles as an IT assistant and Online Editor.
